Retail giant Amazon is looking to expand its online sales network in China, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of its global revenue.
Amazon is planning to launch an online store in Beijing in 2020 and has partnered with local brands, including Chinese online shopping giants Alibaba and Baidu.
Amazon is already offering discounts to Chinese customers, which will expand to more stores in the country.
Alibaba recently said it would offer discounts of 50 percent to 60 percent on the entire range of Amazon.com products, with some items starting at 50 yuan ($7.5 to $10).
Alibaba CEO Jack Ma has previously said he is “looking forward to seeing the future” of online shopping in China.
The company recently launched an e-commerce platform in China that has been a hit with customers, but Alibaba has yet to make an official announcement about how it will expand the platform.
